My Semester

This last year was very interesting... I had great times with my university friends... I had many challenges in lots of aspects of my life...The greatest of them is a new pedagogic philosophy that I'm learning, based on the “Human’s Indeterminacy”... I've also found many people that think like me about education, I've been able to learn more thanks to that....

Beside, I'll go to Spain in a few weeks, and I'll work in a school that teach using this pedagogic philosophy...This year was very intense and the last semester was the best.

To me, learn about a new education paradigm is essential, this way; I have new points of views about children and their processes, capabilities and abilities. To be a good teacher, I think, you must learn a lot from different authors and change the way understanding children and their real needs. In order to learn a lot, I've been assisting to many seminars about “Reggio Emilia” (this is the name of the pedagogic philosophy), in this seminars I've get to know people with my same interest so I've learned a lot from the too. The conversations get enriched when people discuss about a topic. So I've learned a lot this last semester...

By far the best that happened to me this year is this travel to Spain to work in a school with this philosophy. I'll now see this philosophy in real work, I'll learn how to work with the children and their families, I'll learn much more than what can be learned just reading books. I think what I'm going to do in Spain will be a very big step for me into becoming a good teacher...

Looking back the semester, and despite having emotional problems, I've learned a lot, and I feel very happy. I even happier because I think I've found the way I want to follow to teach, to bring quality education to Chile, I'll bring many new ideas that I'll share it other educators who are interested...

My Style of Music

Well, I prefer listen to music in spanish, because I like to sing, and sometimes lyrics in other languages are difficult to sing.

I don't like just one music style; I like listening to many different music styles... I think music has much to do with what I'm doing at the time I'm listening to it, so I have a music style for every moment.

Really, I have a lot of favorite artists, sometimes when I'm reading or studying I listen to soft music, in other moments I prefer to listen funny music when I want to dance or sing with my friends, or when I go partying.

For me, the best artitis is Joaquin Sabina. He is spanish, and his songs talk about love, hate and loneliness. He says that love is true when it is sad...But, in his songs there are always entertaining stories. I met Sabina, because my dad and mom listened his music, so listening Sabina is kind of a family tradition.

I have never bought his CDs, because they are too expensive, so I download his music from the internet. If I had enough money I'll certainly buy some of his discs.

I've seen him twice, two concerts he gave in Chile, and, for me, those concerts where perfect...He is a poet and sings with great passion...

Other spanish artists that I like are Ismael Serrano and Joan Manuel Serrat...They sing about love, but they are less gloomy that Sabina...Most songs of Ismael and Serrat are about everyday life, so I feel that these songs are for me...

The music is important to me, because, it is always with me...When I'm feeling not too good, I can listen to some music that gives me happiness, so I feel better, when I'm tired, I can hear a good song and I enjoy it!

The Education in the Arab World

I chose a story about education in the Arab world. Important global institutions talk about the problems of underdevelopment in the Arab countries happen because many people don’t go to school ... In Arab countries there are "Educational Poverty" and, there are many problems associated with the lack of education. In schools the quality of education in poor

Also, in these countries there are many difficult because there are highest populations and schools aren’t enough for many people.

In these countries children don’t go to school. Then the boys and girls don’t know write and read or don't know mathematics and when they are adult can’t have a good job…

The education in Arab world is very old and don´t believe in new paradigms about teach and learn. Also there are many new skills to learn and the schools must renew.

International researches about education say that to overcome poverty, countries must invest in education, change and improve the general conditions of people…

In Arab culture, unfortunately going to school fewer women than men. This further delayed the progress of these countries. War and political and economic problems have been the reasons why the money on education is not enough…

My Favorite Film

Well, long time ago that I don´t go to the cinema… But I like going to the movies and enjoy a good movie… Really I don’t remember when was the last time I saw a good movie, because unfortunately the last time I went to the cinema, the movies were not good… Also go to the movies is often very expensive and not always have money to buy a ticket, so I often prefer to buy a movie or down directly from the internet…

I like a lot of Spanish cinema, especially the films of Pedro Almodovar. These films are very unique topic, but are always fun and have something to say and learn ... Besides, my films I like the mystery or the police, especially detectives.

Among the best movies I saw long ago, I find the movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona. This film is about two friends who will travel to Barcelona and are followed by many adventures like fall for the same man. This is a comedy a bit unusual and somewhat rare, but in my opinion one of the best I've seen…

Another film that I think is very good and I always recommend to all my friends, is the Spanish film called The Language of the Butterflies. Another film that I think is very good and I always recommend to all my friends, is the Spanish film called The Language of the Butterflies. The story of this movie happens in the Spanish civil war, and is a professor who teaches his students using alternative methodologies, and breaking the classical structure of the classroom...

Recommended places to see Santiago

Well, for me, Santiago is a great city, it has any places to visit and learn about of Chile and her cultures…

I am didn´t born in Santiago, but I with my parents always we came here in holydays… Then, very little ever since I've visited Santiago... I know a lot of this city, and I love it because it has many options for fun…

My first recommendation is to visit and know the Cerro San Cristobal. This place is very nice and big, and has a perfect view of all, or nearly the entire city of Santiago. You can also find several places to eat drink and buy souvenirs. Many times I've gone for a walk on this mountain and I think as a great place to spend a pleasant afternoon and recreational...

Another very good alternative to visit and enjoy Santiago is to visit the Barrio Lastarria and its surroundings. This place is full of literary cafes, art galleries; there is also a cinema, theater and lots of fun. Wherever I go, I meet many foreign tourists who take lots of pictures and chat with other tourists. I think this is a meeting place.

If you prefer art, you could visit the Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda, there are always many varied exhibitions Artist ... There are several libraries and good places for coffee... The art exhibitions of the center are very good, for example some time ago I saw an exhibition of Frida Kahlo, and then saw one of Violeta Parra, saw a well of Nicanor Parra, etc... I highly recommend this cultural center...

I think also a very beautiful walk through the Forest Park in the afternoon. It is full of nature, games for children and benches. This walk is very good for resting on a Sunday afternoon...

My last suggestion for the tourist is to visit the Barrio Brasil. This is a great place to experience the city of Santiago at night. There are always bands doing concerts, art exhibitions and there are many places to eat and drink.

My Favorite T.V. serial

Well, I like many tv shows, I can't decide wich is my favorite one...Rather I have a favorite topic, and when I watch this kind of show I have so much fun...

My favorite shows are those that deal with crimes and the investigation of it. Whenever I have some free time I watch an episode of some of that series, like, “Criminal Minds”, “CSI Criminal Investigation” or “Bones”...

In this kind of show, usually there's a team in charge of figuring out who's responsible for the crime and to obtain the evidence to send it to jail. At first, this kind of show seemed simple and boring to me, but in every episode the plot is different and there's always some lesson to learn.

I prefer to watch the shows on my notebook, because if I want to watch them on tv, I have to wait for the specific time in wich they are aired.
In contrast, I can watch the shows whenever I want to o n my notebook, I just have to download them from the internet.

Now, I'll talk about “Criminal Minds” . The plots of “Criminal Mind” are the most advanced amog the shows I watch... The is compriced of six special police officers, they do psychological profiles of the murderer based on previous murders...They travel all across America to resolve all kinds of murders...My favorite character is “Spencer Reid”...He is only twenty four years old, but he is the smartest agent...This show's episodes have a running time of one hour, and the show is on it's fifth season.
